Hi there! My name is Yuetang Deng and I am a computer scientist with a PhD in the field. I was born in December 1969 and have been working in the tech industry for many years. I previously worked at Samsung, where I gained valuable experience and expertise in the field.
Now, I am excited to announce that I am starting my own online business, selling custom notebooks. This new venture allows me to combine my passion for art with my love for entrepreneurship, offering unique and personalized notebooks to customers in the USA.

How it all started
FROM ENGINEER TO BUSINESSMAN
I used to work as a senior researcher at Samsung. It was a great job, and I learned a lot, but after a few years, I started to feel like I was ready for a change.
One day, I came up with the idea of selling customized notebooks online. I had always been interested in art and design, so I thought it would be a fun side hustle to try out. I decided to use Redbubble as my marketplace, and I spent hours creating my first designs and setting up my shop.
At first, I wasn’t sure if anyone would be interested in buying my notebooks, but to my surprise, they quickly became popular. People loved the unique designs and the high-quality materials I used. I started getting positive feedback and repeat customers, and my shop started to grow.
As time went on, my side hustle started to take up more and more of my time. I was enjoying it so much that I decided to quit my job at Samsung and focus on my notebook business full-time. It was a big decision, but it felt right.
Now, I spend my days creating new designs, filling orders, and interacting with my customers. I’ve decided to expand my product line to include other items like stickers and art prints in the future. It’s been a lot of hard work, but it’s also been incredibly rewarding. I love being able to do something creative and entrepreneurial, and I’m grateful for the support of my customers who have made it all possible.
Running my own business has its challenges, of course. I have to handle everything from production and shipping to marketing and customer service. But I’m learning new skills all the time, and I’m proud of what I’ve been able to accomplish.
Overall, I’m really happy with where I am in my career. I feel like I’m doing something that I’m passionate about and that makes a difference in people’s lives. I’m excited to see where this journey takes me next.

This is my beautiful house in sunny Cupertino, California, from where I run my custom notebook e-commerce business for the past year. I love living in Cupertino, it’s a great place to live and work.
